Terms of service

1. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You're responsible for your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Keep your information accurate; one account per person unless we agree otherwise in writing.

2. The service

Claws lets you build, deploy, run, and monitor teams of AI agents ("Claws" or "workspaces") using templates or your own configurations, connected to third-party tools and messaging channels, running on managed cloud infrastructure. We continuously improve the service and may add, change, or retire features; if a change materially reduces core functionality you've paid for, we'll tell you in advance.

3. Plans, trials, and billing

Pricing. Current prices are listed at buildclaws.ai/pricing — the platform subscription is billed per running workspace, and templates are one-time purchases (a selection is free). The pricing page is the canonical source.

Trial. Your first deployment starts a free trial of the platform subscription. A valid payment method is required to begin the trial, and unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically to a paid subscription. We show a countdown in the product and remind you before conversion; cancellation is one click. If you cancel or payment fails, your workspace pauses and you have a 7-day grace window to subscribe before Section 12's data-retention timeline begins

Billing. Subscriptions bill monthly in advance through our payment provider, Dodo Payments. Failed payments trigger retries and notices; continued failure pauses your workspaces. Applicable taxes are handled through the payment provider at checkout.

Promotional credits. We may grant promotional AI-usage credits (for example, our founding program). Credits fund model inference only — never the platform fee — unlock according to the stated program milestones, expire as stated (typically 60 days), are limited to one grant per person/payment method, have no cash value, and may be revoked for abuse.

4. Refunds and cancellation

Template purchases are refundable within 7 days of purchase only if the template's workspace was never deployed. Once deployed, template sales are final — the trial exists so you can evaluate a running template before your subscription converts. Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we don't provide pro-rata refunds for partial months. Chargebacks on template purchases result in revocation of the associated template license.

5. Templates and licenses

Purchasing or installing a template grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it within Claws for your own operations (including operations you run for your clients). You may customize templates freely. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute a purchased template or a trivially modified version of it — on our marketplace or anywhere else. Official template content is our intellectual property; community template content belongs to its creator and is licensed to you on the same terms.

6. Marketplace and creators

Creators may publish templates and skills. Claws takes 0% commission on marketplace sales; creators receive the sale price minus payment-processing costs, with payouts released after a 7-day hold. Creators are responsible for their published content: it must be their own or properly licensed, must not be malicious, and must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. All submissions pass through our vetting process, and we may remove content, withhold payouts connected to fraud or refunds, or close creator accounts for violations. If you believe marketplace content infringes your rights, report it via the in-product report function or support@buildclaws.ai and we'll review promptly.

7. Your API keys and third-party services

Claws is bring-your-own-key: your agents call AI model providers using API keys you supply, under your agreements with those providers, and you pay those providers directly for usage. Connected tools and messaging channels (for example CRMs, email, WhatsApp, Slack) are governed by their own terms; you're responsible for complying with them. We encrypt your credentials at rest and use them only to operate your workspaces. Third-party services can change or fail in ways outside our control.

8. Autonomous agents: authority and responsibility

This section is the heart of these Terms.

What your agents do is up to you. You configure your agents, connect their tools, and decide — through our approval system — which actions they may take without your review. Actions start approval-gated by default; when you promote an action type to autonomous, you are authorizing your agents to take those actions on your behalf, and their actions are treated as your actions. Certain high-risk actions remain permanently approval-locked by design.

The split. Claws is responsible for the platform: running your containers, securing your credentials, executing your configuration faithfully, and keeping honest, per-agent logs of what happened. You are responsible for the outcomes of your operation: the content your agents produce, the communications they send, the compliance of your use case, and your obligations to your own clients. Our attribution tooling exists precisely so that responsibility is legible — the logs show which layer did what.

AI outputs. Agent outputs are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate despite quality gates. Review anything consequential. Nothing produced by the platform or its templates is legal, medical, financial, or investment advice — including templates for regulated industries, which automate intake, scheduling, and communication, not professional judgment. Trading-related templates default to alert-only operation; enabling autonomous execution is entirely at your own risk.

9. Acceptable use

Your use of the platform must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy (buildclaws.ai/legal/acceptable-use), which is part of these Terms.

10. Our intellectual property; feedback

The platform, its software, design, and documentation are ours or our licensors'. These Terms grant you use of the service, not ownership of it. Your configurations, your content, and your operational data remain yours. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Claws anytime by canceling and/or deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts or workspaces that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, create security or legal risk, or fail to pay — with notice where practicable, and an appeal path via support@buildclaws.ai.

12. What happens to your data

On cancellation: workspaces stay intact and resumable for 30 days; a final encrypted backup is kept until day 90 (restorable if you return); permanent deletion at day 90. Account deletion: permanent purge after a 14-day grace window. Full details in the Privacy Policy. You can export your account data from Settings at any time. The platform does not provide workspace export for self-hosting — Claws is a managed service.

13. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that agents will achieve any particular outcome, that outputs will be accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

15. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your operations — including your agents' actions you authorized, your content, your use of connected tools, and your obligations to your own clients — except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms.

16. Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms and our agreement with you without consent in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets — your service and these protections continue with the successor.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE. Before filing anything, contact support@buildclaws.ai — most issues resolve faster in an email thread than a courtroom.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes get advance notice by email or in-product message, and the effective date above always reflects the current version. Continued use after changes take effect means acceptance.
